You will have to introduce your statements with 'said' or other reporting verbs such as 'report', tell, ask, know, wonder, want + to know' …


These verbs are used to change direct speech into reported speech.

Examples:

Direct Speech

Reported Speech

'My factory has 1,000 workers.'

The manager said his factory had 1,000 workers

'It's hard to please everyone !'

He added that it was hard to please everyone.
