    Quantifiers: some, any, no

Some in affirmative sentences (general use):

Maria, Britney and I drink some water at each meal.

Our brothers take some sheets to draw.

any can also be used in affirmative sentences when you don't know if there is something left:

    → Any:

    Is there any wine?

(we don't know if there is any wine left)

    → Some:

Can I have some chocolate cake, please?

(we know you will give us a piece of chocolate cake, it is a polite question)

Any and no in negative sentences:

→ Any: when there is a negation

    There aren't any journalists.

→ No: when there is no negation

There is no water in the jug.

Another way to build the sentence:

There are no monuments to visit. = There aren't any monuments to visit.

    Choose the right word.
