HOW TO SEARCH ON THE WEB

Sites like www.yahoo.com, www.av.com (formerly Altavista) find all the keyword matches and then sort the results according to relevance within each specific area.

TIPS FOR BETTER SEARCHING

>> Use Double quotes ("") around words that are part of a phrase.

example:		Type in to find the singer Lou Bega
		Don't type , otherwise you will find all the sites containing the word "Lou" and the sites containing "Bega"
		If you look for a person, don't forget the capital letters. It will accelerate your search.

>> Put a + in front of the words that must appear in result documents.

example:		Type in to find Lou Bega's lyrics
		Don't type , otherwise you will find all the sites containing the words "Lou Bega" and the sites containing "lyrics"

>> Put a - in front of words that must not appear in result documents

example:		Type in to find the singer Lou Bega, and not the writer.
		Don't type , with a space, otherwise you will find all the sites containing the word "Lou", the sites containing "Bega", the sites containing "-" and the sites containing "writer" !!!
