Fremont police offering free night in new prison

Fremont police offering free night in new prison
    Fremont - - Here's an offer you can’t refuse - a night in prison.

City employees, reporters and others are invited to spend the night in the new eight million dollar prison in order to help the staff solve problems before the arrival of real prisoners.

    All expenses paid.

The series of what are being called 'one-night vacations' will be held in November. The prison opens for real on December 14th.

Sergeant Jim Berney, the prison manager, says it seemed like more fun to test the prison out on ordinary people rather than experimenting on the cons.

Gifts will be also offered: a mug souvenir, an I-D wristband, an inventory of your confiscated property, as well as dinner and breakfast.

And of course, there's that 24-hour security.
