    Dear Macha,
I'm Sara, 18,from France, and my parents are making my life miserable ... I wish you (can/help) me find a solution. I was offered the opportunity to go and study in the U.S., but my parents (not /let) me go. They said they wish I (never /give) that idea to go and study so far away. In their opinion, it's a stupid suggestion! For them, my going away from home is like 'perdition'. I, a well-bred young lady, would be left alone, on my own, lost without them! Can you imagine that?
I wish I (never/ act) as if I (be) their property! Don't you think it's high time I (assert) myself, (ignore) their remarks, and (live) my own life and not my parents' ? I, for my part, think it's about time I (make) my own choices! My parents argue that if I (be) sensible, I (understand) that I should study here where everything is free and handy for everyone. They think it's time I (make) a living, especially as I have 3 younger brothers and sisters and they say they can't afford my tuition in the U.S.! They'd rather I (give up) the idea altogether! Please, Macha, help me! I need your advice!

    Dear Sara,
If I (be) you, I (not/rush) into such a decision! It's true that you're not an only child! In fact, you're no longer a child! You wish you (can/make) your decisions freely! I understand you! But you have to consider the financial impact of your studying in the U.S. on your family! Sara, it's too late to make preparations for this coming year\! I wish you (organise) that project a year in advance ... Now, as it is, it's about time you (realise) you can start studying near your home, and prepare long term arrangements to go after your dream, if you persist in this line of thinking! Of course, you wish your parents (accept) your request more easily, but you should have tried to get a scholarship to help them! If only you (think) about this important decision before, you could be starting to study in the U.S. next autumn! This may sound harsh, but it may be a good lesson to remember!
    Yours sincerely.
    Macha
