    Tremors


     Quake, tremble, oscillate, quake in one's boots, quiver, rock, shake,shake in one's boots, shake in one's shoes, shiver, shudder, teeter, totter,vibrate, wobble .

    All these  verbs , in English, refer  to various ways  of   trembling.

    Some  can be used in different  situations, others  convey   precise  meanings . Let's  see some of them  .

    1 to tremble : shake  slightly because you are  afraid,  nervous, excited.    

    2 to   quake :    shake   because  you are terrified, or  show   great  fear ;  but   you can also quake   with laughter.

    3  to shudder/ shiver :  tremble strongly  with fear  or disgust . Shiver  at  the  thought  of  something horrible.

    4  to teeter :  move  in  an  unsteady   way  back  and    forth  or  from  side  to side.

    5  to totter:  walk   in   an   unsteady    way  as   children  or   old   people do.  Be  unstable .

    6 to wobble:  waver,    move   or      rotate in   an     uneven way  ( e.g. suspension bridges ).

    7 to rock (trans.  intrans.)  move  gently  back  and  forth.

    8 to  vibrate : shake  with  quick ,  rhythmic  movements.

    9 to oscillate :swing  back  and forth  with regularity . Fig .  vacillate in thoughts.

    10 to  shake : cause  a movement  from side to  side  or  up and  down  with  jerks (abrupt movements).
