    After the verb:After the complement:

    A- Far places:
    Los Angeles is 122 miles away.Pennsylvania and Philadelphia are 712 miles apart.
    B- Directions:
    The boat sailed eastwards.Peter went downstairs to open the door.
    C- Locations:
    Look above! There is a huge shining star.
    D- Places:
    He couldn't find her. He looked for her everywhere. My father is going outside.
    How to build new adverbs:
    anywhere, everywhere, nowhere, somewhere, backwardswestwards, eastwards, forwards, southwards

    homewards, upwards etc.

    1-I'm sure I have left my passport somewhere.

    2-I searched for my grammar book everywhere.

    3-Have you seen my cell phone anywhere?


    1-The ship sailed westwards.

    2-She came forward(American English)

     

    The adverb is sometimes at the beginning of the sentence:

     

    1-Here are the novels you wanted.

    2-Here comes the train.
