    Lie or lay


    Apart from the verb  to lie  lied  lied which is a regular verb, there are two other verbs which can easily be confused.

    Lie- lay- lain  ( lying , gerund)   is an intransitive verb  .

    Lay- laid- laid   is a transitive verb  .
