In September 1988, Mr and Mr Smith (live)in the top floor flat of a high building. One day Mrs Smith was at home. It was a beautiful day, the sun (shine) and in the town below, people (enjoy) the good weather. While Mrs Smith (look)out of the window she (see)her husband walk in to the building. As he got out of the lift, she (open) the door, very surprised to see him so early from the office. He (tell) his wife that he (leave) her. Of course Mrs Smith was shocked and upset. While he (put)his clothes into a suitcase, Mrs Smith (cry). As he (walk)out of the door she was still crying. Mrs Smith listened while the lift went down. When it (stop) at the ground floor, she walked to the window, opened it and (jump). At that exact moment, Mr Smith walked out of the building and he (think) of his new life when suddenly Mrs Smith (land) on top of him. He was killed instantly but Mrs Smith was completely unhurt. People said she (smile) when she recovered from the shock but I'm not sure that is true.
