    Un seul mot en français pour plusieurs significations, mais plusieurs mots en anglais.

    Voyons-les ensemble.

     

     

    'Arriver à' pour parler d'une ville:  To arrive in

    Mon train arrive à Londres à 8H.
     
     
    To arrive at (pour parler d'un endroit)
     
    Ou, plus formel: 'we have to arrive at the school by eight o'clock' / 'we have to get to school by 8' / 'we have to be at school by eight o'clock'
     
    Nous devons arriver à l'école avant 8H
     
     
    To get (to-on-in)
    J'arriverai sur la ligne d'arrivée avant toi!
     
     
    Arriver = se passer = se produire = to happen
     
     
    Euhhh! c'est arrivé hier.
     
     
    Arriver = réussir à faire quelque chose = to manage (to do something)

    Arriver dans le sens de ' Qu'est-ce qui t'arrive?' = 'What's the matter with you?/'What has happened to you?'

    Arriver => 'Est-ce que ça t'arrive de ...?' = Do you ever ...?'
