    1. It was at the Leipzig Toy Fair in March 1903 that the Steiff company a new toy bear with movable arms and legs.
    2. He was simply as Bär (Bear) 55 PB, but today he is widely held to be the very first teddy.
    3. Bär 55 PB wasn't actually the first bear to be made by the company; they were already appearing in Steiff
    as far back as 1892.
