                                                                            ANIMAL  NOISES

     

     It's curious to notice that people, in different parts of the world, simply do not hear the same noise when a dog 'woofs 'or a duck' quacks'.

    In France dogs go 'ouah, ouah' and ducks go 'coin, coin'.

     What do people say to mimic the rooster cry ? 

      English:  cock-a-doodle doo             French:  cocorico             Spanish:  kikiriki

      Portugese:  cucurucu                        German:  kikeriki             Italian:  chicchirichi

      Danishkykyliky                                 Dutch:  kukeleku             Russian:  kukareku 

     

     Here are three dogs, they don't make the same noise

                                                                                    

     little dog:  yap, yap                   middle sized dogwoof, woof              big dog: bow wow  

     

     The French frog says:   croa croa        the English one:   croak                            

                    and in the USA it says:   ribbit            

     

                                                               

     a horse says  neigh         a cow says moo          a sheep says baa       a goat says  naa

     

                                                 

     a crane says clang            a camel says grumph       an elephant says baraag

     

                                                              

               pretty boy                                                 gobble gobble

    1. This seems to be a particular case, when a snake is hissing everybody hears

    5. If a wolf is howling you can hear

    7. A cat purrs to show that it is pleased, if it's in distress it says
    8. Near a swarm of bees you can hear a big
    9. A donkey which brays makes a sound that is not very pleasant to hear
    10. Doves or pigeons make a low soft call
