    Mail from Abidjan

     Bingerville,

     near Abidjan

     Friday, 13th May 1977
    Dear Kerry

I arrived home last Monday morning . I was both very tired and hungry because I did not eat anything and  the journey was long.

In the village people were very kind to me.Everyone wanted me to come and eat their food and then I was sometimes embarrassed. We got up earlier than here and went to the farm without having any breakfast .We started working at six o' clock. It was not easy for me. One day I decided not to go to the farm because I was very tired and sick as well. But I helped my mother to pound cassava .After lunch I took a rest and fortunately I recovered. In the evening we danced in the village square until eleven . I saw lots of things I had never seen before.I had a good holiday and next year I will return there.

What about you? Have you also had a nice holiday ? I want to ask you something.Have you taken Martin's book to him?

I am going to do some school-work next week before the courses begin. Will you come with me here next year ?

    See you soon.

    Yours,

    Adam
