    • “Advice” is the noun, “advise” the verb.
    • Do you want some advice (nom) 
    • I advise (verbe) you to leave early. 

     

     

     


     



     

    Practice / practise => 5 questions : B

     

     

    • Practice is a noun, practise is a verb. ('Ice' is a slippery thing, 'ise' is not a thing !)
    • Remember that practice is a thing ( a noun) and practise is a doing word (a verb):

    • Practice = nom : 'It's good practice'
    • practise = verbe : 'practise your violin !'

     

     

     

     


     



     

    Passed / past => 5 questions : C

     

    • If you are referring to time or distance, use 'past' :
    • 'The team performed well in the past.'
    • 'The police car drove past the suspect’s house.'


    • If you are referring to the action of passing, you need to use 'passed':
    • 'When John passed the cream, he spilled  it on the table cloth.'
    • 'The teacher was astonished that none (= aucun) of the students had passed  the test.'


      • Passed = verb - preterite
      • Past = noun ( =  the past)
      • Past =  after a verb (to go past)
