    Une préposition est un mot invariable , qui introduit , selon un certain rapport de sens , un complément de verbe , de nom , d'adjectif ou d'adverbe .

     

    Exemples : on , in , at , of , for , from , to , into , by , across , around , near , with , about , along ...

     

    LA PRÉPOSITION ON :

    les sens et les exemples :

    - sur : The book is on the table

    -dans : We are on the bus

    - à / au : He hangs the light on the wall

      

    LA PRÉPOSITION IN : 

    les sens et les exemples :

    - dans : Maria was born in London

    - en : South Africa is going to host the next World Cup in 2010

    on l'utilise aussi :

    - pour les parties du jour : exemple ==> in the morning

    - pour les saisons : exemple ===> in the summer

    - pour les mois : exemple ====> in September  

      

    LA PRÉPOSITION AT :

    les sens et les exemples :

    - à : Someone is knocking at the door

    on l'utilise aussi :

    - pour l'âge : exemple ====> My friend got married at the age of 20

    -pour l'heure :exemple ====> I wake up at 7 o'clock

    -dans l'expression ' to be good at something ' ====> I am very good at maths  

     

    LA PRÉPOSITION OF

    les sens et les exemples :

    - de : The colour of the sky is blue

    on l'utilise aussi :

    - dans l'expression ' That's nice of him. '

     

    LA PRÉPOSITION FOR

    - pour : She buys some clothes for the children

    - pendant : He has gone on a trip for 2 weeks

     

    LA PRÉPOSITION FROM :

    - de : I have just received a letter from my friend Maria

            : I am from France

    - à partir de : From today , I'll spend more time on reading books

    - à cause de : I am tired from the journey 

     

    LA PRÉPOSITION TO

    - à : I have been to Japan

          : I walk to the bus station

          : He works from  dawn to  sunset

     

    LA PRÉPOSITION INTO :

    - dans : He puts it into his suitcase

    -en : He uses the dictionary to translate the word into French

    - par : He was hit by a truck

    - prés de : My  house would be by the sea if I could...
