      Quelques verbes de perception

     
    hearHave you heard that cry? smellThis smoke smells terrible.
    feel Do you still feel hungry? soundThis opera sounds boring.
    listen toShe is listening to music. seeWhen I saw the house, I loved it.
    lookLook! There is a nice bird flying. tasteCould you taste this soup?
    seemDoesn't that seem strange to you? watchWe sat and watched the sunset.

    Utilisation de ces verbes.

        1. Après les verbes de perception: Base verbale ou  verbe + ing

         I can smell something burning   ( verbe en -ing l'action est en cours. Qu'est-ce qui peut bien brûler?)
             I saw Mike fall off his bike (verbe à l'infinitif sans to, j'ai vu toute l'action,
                                                                                                     elle est terminée et n'a pas duré longtemps)
               Les verbes de perception ne sont jamais suivis d'un infinitif avec 'to' à la voix active.

        2. Inversion verbe sujet

                  I saw two people come in.      ( j'ai vu entrer deux personnes)
                  Listen to what Tom is saying.   (écoute ce que dit Tom)

         3.  Verbes de perception et adjectifs

               This cake tastes delicious ( après le verbe il faut mettre un adjectif, attribut, qui décrit le sujet)
                                         This cake tastes deliciously : l'adverbe ne convient pas , un adverbe modifie un verbe. Ici
                                                                                             c'est  la tarte qui est délicieuse.
                     Betty looks good in that dress. (et non looks 'well' qui est l'adverbe de good)

      4.  Verbes de perception + like

         Sarah looks like her sister Sonia.  They don't look like their brother Tom.
               This wine tastes like sherry.
         Pour signaler des ressemblances entre deux noms (ou pronoms) on fait suivre le verbe de 'like'
                                                             subject + verb + like + object
                                                  Kids will eat anything if it tastes like pizza.
