Merlin the magician came to visit Britains new king; he met King Arthur and gave him some advice. He also informed him that he would fight many battles to ensure peace and justice in Britain, and also to defend the weak against the strong, and the poor against the rich. One day Merlin took King Arthur for a journey to the west and when they reached a place called 'Tintagel', they saw a valley and a lake ; they continued on their way until they reached the edge of the lake, where they stood together and looked at the water. After a while, a small empty boat came out of the mist, the boat moved slowly until it stopped at the edge of the lake, then Arthur stepped inside, and it started moving until it reached the middle of the lake.
When the small boat reached the middle of the lake, King Arthur saw a hand raising a sword, then he advanced nearby. As soon as he took the sword from the raising hand a voice whispered the name Excalibur. The boat returned to the place where Merlin was waiting. Later, Merlin explained to Arthur that the sword from the stone was just a sign that he was the true King, but the new sword Excalibur was made for battles, also to ensure peace and justice; in fact it was a gift from the lady of the lake.
King Arthur went back and he reached Winchester, then he prepared a huge army and also called all the bravest knights to join him. When the army was ready to fight, he travelled to the east and fought the invaders: he fought six battles until the enemies were pushed back to their lands. King Arthur carried the sword Excalibur into each battle; he used it to defeat all his enemies. Later on, King Arthur returned to the north; he also fought six battles, the sword Excalibur was always with him. He won a great battle at 'Badon Hill'.
After all those battles, people found peace and justice at last, and finally there was only one king and one kingdom. King Arthur named his whole Kingdom The Kingdom of Logres'. Men loved Arthur and respected him because he was a noble, brave and honest king and warrior. As time went by, he gathered all his men and built a wonderful big castle. That castle was made of white stones, and he called it Camelot. Later, many knights joined King Arthur and sat with him in his great hall.
