When the wedding ceremony finished, Merlin went to his own tent; with him went Morgana the Fay and Lady Nimue. Along the way, the two ladies spoke to each other, but Merlin did not pay much attention to their discussion since he was very tired and his mind was confused. As the two ladies and the magician entered the tent, Merlin went directly to his bed. Later, Morgana stood just next to the magician’s bed and then she looked at him and smiled an evil smile. Merlin’s magical power was very weak, so he did not understand what was behind that evil smile.
Morgana the Fay was King Gorlios’s youngest daughter and also King Arthur’s half-sister; in fact she did not forget what had happened to her family several years ago when she was three years old. Morgana hated her half-brother King Arthur because his father King Uther Pendragon had put her in a nunnery after her father's death. She also hated Merlin as well because he was responsible for the death of her mother Queen Igrayne; in fact she hated the whole kingdom and she wanted to destroy it.
That night and while Merlin was sleeping in his tent, Morgana cast two evil spells: The first one was for King Arthur’s wife Queen Guinevere, it made her sleep in another room, and dream of Sir Lancelot du Lac. With the second one, Morgana transformed and took Guinevere’s shape, then she went directly to Arthur’s bedroom and lay with him on his bed. When she woke up the next morning she whispered in her half-brother's ears and told him that he would have a son. Later on, King Arthur woke up and forgot about everything.
Morgana left the castle and went to Merlin’s tent. The magician became very old and very sick; he was able neither to walk nor even to talk. Shortly later, the two ladies spoke to Merlin and told him that they knew a secret place in the forest where he would find rest and peace forever. Merlin accepted that idea at once and rode north with them until they reached a big forest. When the two witches and the magician came near a big old oak tree, a doorway opened in the trunk of the tree, then Lady Nimue asked Merlin to step inside. As soon as the door closed behind Merlin, Nimue informed Morgana and told her that no one would see his face again. From that day, many sad and bad things started to happen to the whole kingdom, in fact Morgana brought evil and sadness to Camelot.
