    Happy New Year! This day is traditionnally a religious fist, but most people have forgoten it and it now is above all an oportunity to celebrate the night of 31 December, called New Year ' s Eave. People have a good meal, drink a lot of champagne and spend a lot of money on fireworks at midnight, even when it is illegal. This may leads to serious accidents so be carefull. It is also customary to make New Year ' s resolutions, even if not all of them are fullfilled in the year to come. Some people intend to stop smoking, do more physical exercice, drink less alcool or lose weight.
