Bonjour, voici une question qui m'a posé une colle aujourd'hui. Votre avis est le bienvenu pour y répondre.
Laquelle de ces deux expressions est correcte:
an hour's ticket / an hour ticket
an hour's walk / an hour walk
Dans le cas où elles seraient toutes les deux correctes, quelle est la différence?
Mon avis est que l'on utilise an hour's ticket et a three dollar ticket. Le génitif pour hour étant une exception car il s'agit d'une durée mais je n'en suis pas sûr.

I'd say:
'an hour ticket'/'a one hour ticket' are both correct(if you want it to mean a ticket for one hour of something) - I can't think of any instances where you'd say 'an hour's ticket' - it doesn't seem to make sense to me.
'an hour's walk' (e.g. it's an hour's walk away), though 'an hour walk' works okay too (e.g. it's an hour walk away) and means the same thing here, but the former is what I'd say naturally, but that may be a regional dialect thing...
I think the difference may be that the first one means 'a ticket FOR an hour' whereas the second means 'a ticket OF an hour' - but there is probably a better explanation.
