French assistant Cover letter

Hello !
Je prépare actuellement une lettre de motivation en anglais pour être assistant de français au Royaume-Uni.
J'ai d'abord besoin d'un renseignement essentiel : j'étais surveillant dans un lycée l'an dernier, et je ne sais pas exactement comment le traduire en anglais. Est-ce que "a supervisor in a high school" peut convenir ?
Je joins ci-dessous la copie du corps de la lettre. Il y a probablement des maladresses, et c'est peut-être aussi de l'anglais un peu trop français ! ;)
Dear Sir or Madam,
The opportunity to work as a French Assistant in the United Kingdom has been offered to me by my English teacher. I feel strongly about English language and culture, and would be greatly pleased to be considered for this post.
I have a several-months experience in the field of pedagogy, as a supervisor in a high school. I benefited a lot from this activity. I learned many things about education and teenagers, and improved my communication skills, among others.
A job of French Assistant would enable me to reconcile my liking in education with the practise of English. I’ll also be able to share my knowledge of my native country and language with English pupils, while myself discovering theirs.
I can be available for interview at your convenience. I am looking forward to hearing from you.

Alors, pour moi, ta lettre est très bien tournée (malgré que je soit meilleure en anglais qu'en mise en forme). je ne vois pas de fautes...(peut être que d'autres en verrons...).En tout cas je trouve ça génial ce que tu fais!

(*)La langue et la culture anglaise sont déterminées.
(**) Tant que tu restes dans le domaine du non-accompli, de l'irréel, c'est le conditionnel qu'il convient d'employer, pas le futur.
Par ailleurs, évite les formes contractées à l'écrit, particulièrement dans ce genre de lettre.

Honte à moi pour la forme contractée, je me suis permis d'en faire la remarque à quelqu'un sur un autre post, et je commets l'erreur à mon tour !
