    Pas besoin / relatif
    Message de ttt posté le 20-12-2014 à 09:18:30 (S | E | F)
    Bonjour,
Exemple: He is saying he doesn't need a coach.
Si la phrase était sous cette forme : he is saying that he doesn't need a coach.
    Est-ce une faute?
    Merci.

    Bonjour,
I hope * you understand! I think * you can understand that! He says * he can't come.

The man who is ringing the bell looks like a postman
The man (who) you saw at the door was the postman
The man (who(m))I was speaking to is the postman.
The man (who(m))you saw me with was the postman.

I have a car which is white.
The car (which) I usually drive is white.
The car (that) he used for the robbery was never found.

    Whose ne peut pas disparaitre:
I have a friend whose wife is a doctor.
I have a friend whose wife I hate.

    Merci de votre réponse.
    C'est très technique comme réponse.
J'aimerais atteindre ce niveau un jour.
    Continuez comme ça!

    Hello.
To supplement gerondif's explanation, I would add that relative subject pronouns followed by "be" (or a form thereof) can often be omitted, as long as "be" is also omitted. This is most often the case when "be" is used to form the continuous aspect or the passive voice:
    - The man (who is) ringing the doorbell is the postman.
    - The wallet (that was) found under the table is my brother's.
    See you.

    Hello,
