    Prépositions/at
    Message de evasion75 posté le 06-05-2016 à 12:19:22 (S | E | F)
    Bonjour,
    Pouvez-vous m'aider s'il vous plait?
When does he arrives home in the evening?
Dans cette phrase ci-dessus la préposition AT qui devrait précéder home pour indiquer un point d'arrivée n'apparaît pas, pourquoi?
Quelles sont les types de phrases où il ne faut pas employer AT ?
    Merci pour vos réponses.

    Hello.
The word home uses the preposition 'at' in certain cases. See the link for some examples. Lien internet

If you substitute another location, such as apartment or school, it is required.
When does he arrives home in the evening? Incorrect! When does he arrive home in the evening?
When does he arrive at his apartment in the evening?
When does he arrive at school in the morning?
It's the same with the preposition 'to'.
When does he go home in the evening? When does he go to his apartment? When does he go to school?
Sometimes you just need to remember the exceptions.
    Sherry

*The examples given on the link where at is used, sound better to me without at. At home sounds like the phrase used a hundred years ago, when the butler said, "I'm sorry, but Madame is not at home today".
