    Hello ,
in my computer when I was downloading something I saw a sentence.
It was telling me the files I had to download and it was saying:
    the files to be updated:250

I want to know what's the difference is between :
"files to update or files to download"
    and between
"files to be updated or files to be downloaded"

    Thanks for your help!

    Hello!

"Files to download" indicates how many files still need to be downloaded. "Files to update" indicates how many new or existing files still need to be updated on your computer. The two are often related as you need to download new files which will be used to update or replace existing files.

I hope this answers your question.

No Sorry, I think I have mistaken in my question is wrong.
I don't want to know the difference between update or download ;anyway I already know it.
The problem is the difference between:
files to download and files to be downloaded
I'm asking you about the role of "be" here?.

    Hello.

In fact there is no difference in meaning. In effect they are both elliptic phrases: files (that one needs) to download, files (that need) to be downloaded.

    See you.

    Hello,

files to download and files to be downloaded
I'm asking you about the role of "be" here?.

Be indicates the file is going to be downloaded by either you or somebody

    Good night and Good luck
