    University Test/issues
    Message from blahblah posted on 01-02-2012 at 20:19:35 (D | E | F)
    Hello,

I've just taken the "university test 1" and I need help with some corrections. Indeed, at the sentence number 24, they have corrected me like that :

"24. She is an acquaintance of Peter Peter's"
I don't get it. May someone explain me ?
And at the number 28 :
"28. He went bankrupt a in one day, owing to careless management."

For the second one : does that mean this poor guy lasts only one day ? I didn't know what to choose, so I selected "a" by default.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hello,

    24) "She is one of Peter's friends" can become idiomatically: "She is a friend of Peter's".
    28) It took only one day for him to lose everything.

The 's means something belongs to somebody.
Literally 'A friend belonging to Peter'
