    Hello,

Could you tell me please whether one can use "by" instead of "as" in the next sentences.
The papers try to portray him as strange and bizarre but he's just not strange and bizarre.
Or one can use "by and "in" afrer "portray" only in the phrases like "to portray someone by/in some way" or "to portray someone by fool"
I hope you understand my question.
Thank you for your answer in advance.

    Hello.
If you write a passive sentence, you could write 'portrayed by'. Sherry

Sherry, could I use "in" in both passive and active voice?
He portraits her in bad manner(way).
She was portrated in strange way.
