    Use / Whether
    Message from khalil07 posted on 08-11-2012 at 09:58:54 (D | E | F)
    Good morning everyone,

Please I need your help about some misunderstanding of my part on the use of whether.
    I read the following passage
"this is a key consideration for organisations-whether to acquire another part of the value chain to gain more control-but on the dowside it increases complexity"
I was expecting the use of "or" in the sentence after whether because I think the use of "whether" here does not have the same meaning with "if"
    Thanks for helping me

    Bonjour..

'Whether' may be followed by to-infinitive...
"HSBC delays decision on whether to leave London"
"I was wondering whether to call him"
