They give as a correct answer
"It has a strange colour". I wrote "it is a strange colour".
    Can my sentence be correct?

    Hello

Yes, while I think either answer is OK, "it's" is usually a contraction of "it is" instead of "it has". A moderator will correct it soon.

    Hello,

It sounds strange either of them. I would say:
    1. This is a strange colour or
    2. This flower is beautiful. It has a strange color.

    Hello,

    Has is correct here.
If you read the exercise you'll see that the previous sentence is:
There's * a tortoise in the garden, ... (see the three dots?)
and the following sentence is about the tortoise that can't BE a strange colour but HAVE a strange colour.
