    Rest /singular or plural
    Message from kirill posted on 24-08-2013 at 14:04:52 (D | E | F)
    Hello

Could you help me please? Thank you for your answers.

Am I correct thinking that "the rest" can be used both with singular and plural verbs, like is/are?
E.g. "the rest is history" or "the rest of the students are busy".

    Hello,

Yes you are right as it depends on the context; it may be used as a singular or as a plural.
