    Hello,
    It's : I am Who I am.
    Who : A character
What : An object or an item

    Hello
As has been said, both are correct, but they mean different things.
Who are you? I am Horatio Nelson. I am who I am.
What are you? I am courageous, I am brave, I am determined, I am Admiral of the Fleet. I am what I am.
    Cheers.

    Hello ,
Sorry I wrote in French and English this morning .

-I am who I am is purely grammatical and means you explain your identity , your characteristics as a human being ; it is as if you said ' love me as I am'with my qualities and my faults. I am not going to change.( or why should I change for you ?)
    - I am what I am is more colloquial and changes the meaning .It focuses on everything which has made and makes you . It is like saying you are responsible for what you are or have become . You can hear ' This child is going to be something (neutral, then): your life, your job, your manners , your future....
    Good night.

    Hello,
Both are correct. The terms are rarely used in everyday English.
Can't recall ever hearing 'I am who I am' being said, but it definitely can be used in the correct context.
