    Superlative/help
    Message from clint01 posted on 07-04-2015 at 14:08:40 (D | E | F)
    Hello,
Would you please tell me how I can correct the mistakes (if there are any) in the sentences that follows:

January with the average of 120,000 $ had the highest income compared to that of March with the average of 75,600 $.
January and March had the highest (120,000 $) and lowest (75,600 $) income, respectively.
The highest (120,000 $) and lowest (75,600 $) income were (OR happened) in January and March, respectively.

Thank you for your attention in advance
    PS
How can I use 'with the average of' in the first sentence above.

    Hello.
Before I write anything, I want to let you know that I am not a native speaker. Therefore, what I write may or may not be completely correct. I am pretty sure it is, though.

    1. January, with the average of 120,000 $, had the highest income compared to that of March with the average of 75,600 $. - - - The first two commas are necessary because you have to separate the apposition with them.

    2. January and March had the highest (120,000 $) and the lowest (75,600 $) incomeS, respectively. - - - Not completely sure about these.

    3. The highest (120,000 $) and the lowest (75,600 $) incomeS were (OR happened) in January and March, respectively.

I did not understand the last question, please clarify.

    I hope this helps.

    Hello,
Thank you for leaving a comment but I am afraid I did follow you.

What do you mean by ''I am afraid I did follow you''?

I don't know how you see my message but I can only see the first 3-4 lines.

    Re: Superlative/help from clint01, posted on 07-04-2015 at 17:55:13 (D | E)
Sorry I meant I did NOT follow you. I could see 1. January, ( not the other sentences after that
If you want to edit your suggestion you can click on the letter E.

Yes, I know. There is a bug with that reply, I have tried everything to fix it. That's why I wrote the second reply saying that lucile83 should fix it if she can. Please, wait until she does that and then read it completely.

Everything is ok now; you can go on ...without any bug please

    Re: Superlative/help from clint01, posted on 07-04-2015 at 21:04:49 (D | E)
Thank you dear Lucile for terminating the bug.
Thank you Lukaznachi for your suggestion. But I think that the second 'THE" is unnecessary.

    Re: Superlative/help from lukaznachi, posted on 09-04-2015 at 08:07:15 (D | E)
Ok, maybe it is, I'm not sure. Then the only mistakes are commas and the plurals of ''income''
    See you.

I think so. But I am certain about the second 'the'. Actually, I usually write that second 'the' then I remember that grammatically I should not use it. Thank you again.

    Hello
    Better late than never
Mind the commas and plural + 'noticed' + the place of $.

January, with the average of $120,000, had the highest income compared to that of March with the average of $75,600.

January and March had the highest ($120,000) and lowest ($75,600) incomes, respectively.

The highest ($120,000) and lowest ($75,600) incomes were noticed in January and March, respectively.

    Thanks a million, Lucile

Hello, you should say "with an average" (not "the"); also, dollar signs usually go immediately before the number: $120,000.
    See you.

$ before the number has already been noticed.
