    Help sb understand/to understand
    Message from lukaznachi posted on 17-04-2016 at 12:26:25 (D | E | F)
    Hello.
    I have a question.
    Help somebody to understand
    or
    Help somebody understand
    For example:
He helped her to understand the problem.
He helped her understand the problem.

Is there a difference between the two?
I know that the verb pattern is help somebody to understand, but I keep seeing them both equally so I was wondering whether both are correct.
    Thank you for any reply.

    Hello,
Both are possible, though 'He helped her to understand' is more correct than 'He helped her understand' which is more familiar.
    Hope it helps
