    Help/Past simple
    Message from irina1958 posted on 18-06-2017 at 09:22:04 (D | E | F)
    Hello,
    Could you help me please?

Why in this sentence do you use past simple
" I was playing played (play) tennis all yesterday morning. That's why I feel so tired today. ".
"all yesterday morning" point on the past continuous.
    Am I wrong?
    Thank you for your answers.

    Hello !
    Yes, you're wrong! (Sorry! )
"all yesterday morning" (though not very common in that order...) clearly indicates that the action is over and therefore needs the past simple.

    Hi
I think here both the action and the period of time are important, but (All yesterday) itself shows the duration of time and it is not needed we write it in continous form. But when for example we want to show the happening of something in the period of time when something else was happening, we use it:
I was teaching when she came.
    I hope it is useful.
    Best regards
