Main use: past action (dated and definite)

-- REGULAR VERBS --
Did they play football yesterday?

-- IRREGULAR VERBS --
Did they win yesterday?
>> Yes, they won.
= Yes, they did.

No, they didn't win yesterday.
= No, they didn't.
