    Demonstrative adjectives and pronouns.

    "this", "these", "that" and "those"

A- Used as adjectives, they agree with their nouns in number. They are the only adjectives to do this.

         EG: this boy

               these boys

               that boy

               those boys

    B- Used as pronouns:

eg. This is my pen, and that is yours.

These are my dresses and those are yours.

     This is a possible  introduction:

eg. This is my sister Anna.

Those can be followed by a defining relative clause:

eg. Those who couldn't walk were carried on stretchers.

This/that can represent a previously mentioned noun, phrase or clause:

eg. They are digging up my road. They do this every summer.
