Superlatives

For example, we can say "Londonis the most beautiful city in France". Here, "most beautiful" is the superlative of "beautiful" which means "the most beautiful".

III) Exceptions:

There are a few exceptions to this general rule.

➡️ For two-syllable adjectives that end in -y, we replace the -y with -iest.

For example, "happy" becomes "happiest".


➡️ for two-syllable adjectives that end in -er, -le, or -ow, we simply add -est.
For example, "clever" becomes "cleverest".

➡️ inally, for irregular adjectives, it is necessary to memorize them.

For example, "good" becomes "best" and "bad" becomes "worst".

IV) Careful:

It is important to note that some adjectives cannot take a superlative because they describe qualities that cannot be hierarchically ranked. For example, we cannot say that a person is "the most unique".
