    Vocabulary: their homes

Winter has arrived. Every animal is feeling like being warm and very comfortable in their HOMES. These homes normally closely corresponds to their needs.

Let's start with the animal we know very well: human beings. They can live, depending on their geographical location in a dwelling (which has different forms, characteristics and names) and is adapted to their environments.

We will stick to our latitudes and will see that human beings live either in a house, or in a flat/an apartment. Alas, in every country, and for many different reasons, a great number of people are homeless and live on the streets, (a homeless person; the homeless).

                            A house

               An apartment/a flat

                           The homeless

    I) There are pets: I'll voluntarily reduce my purpose to the most usual ones as, in my opinion, and in spite of what can be seen in Great Britain and France, a boa and a rat cannot be called pets!  )

A cat and basket                  A dog and its kennel                  Gold fish in a bowl

A bird in a cage                 A parrot on a perch                    A guinea pig

Though they have their own homes, some of these animals may take it easy and occupy (and even invade) a part of their masters' territories!

II) The other animals are raised and accommodated in farms (or in industrial breeding sheds) or simply in nature

                       A beehive                           A nest                   A bird house
A henhouse                      A horse in a stable                       Cows in a cowshed

                              A bear in a cave                   A fox in a lair/ a den                      A mole and molehill

Well, well! For the exercise, your duty will be to house everyone in the right place!
