A few years later, when we became teenagers, the land had been sold. After our boarding school ' s week, when we turned back home, we saw the tall grass razed, the ponds destroyed, all the trees falled , and the fauna, to which we were used, all our friends, disapeared : it really hurt my heart!

Instead of sweet life, the desert, desolation, anger, incomprehension for all this useless rampage!

Buildings for tourists were sprouting up everywhere. The country path had turned into a busy and dangerous road, closed since. The sound of construction and then neighbors, shouting had invaded the space once filed by birdsongs, the stealth of reptiles in dry grasses, and the reassuring sizles of insects, batrachiens, crocking and throwing their long tongues onto the careless insects.

True to Mom ' s memory, I continued my observations by confining myself in the garden of the house, for pleasure too, whale my sister was drawing dresses in our shared bedroom, dreaming as if she were the quinn .

I keep in my heart the extraordinary image and memory of those happy years, even if the living conditions had been going though a rough path.
