    Borrow / Lend / Loan

Lend        Used only as a verb and is sometimes synonymous with the word 'loan'.

It means  to allow someone to use something temporarily : Banks lend money.

'Lend' can also be used figuratively: Lend me your ears = Listen to me.

Loan        'Loan' is most commonly used as a noun.

It usually refers to a sum of money that we must pay back with interest:

I'm going to take out a loan at the bank.

We can also use it as a verb (the opposite of 'borrow'): Yes, I will loan you the laptop.

(Note : 'Loan' is also used as a synonym for 'lend' in North American English.)

Borrow    It means using something that belongs to someone  with the intention of returning it:

I need to borrow some money.

BORROW means 'to take' while LEND / LOAN mean 'to give'.
