I was to young when I read Notre Dame de Paris by Victor Hugo.
Please keep in mind: I insist on the fact that a book is always write by its author. It's always a book by Dumas, by Balzac, etc ...
I don't remember we characters (and not caracters) well. The only impression I still have is that it was a really realistic book, especially "la cour des miracles".
Anyway, I don't think it is the best book by Victor Hugo ("1793" or "les misérables") are better.
Sorry for the french parts, but it is titles.

I think it's rather a beautiful book but too sad because Quasimodo and Esmeralda died at the end. I think too that Victor Hugo was too cynical when he wrote this book : indeed, the good ones died and the others (Fröllo, and even Phoebus who's a little opportunist) stayed alive.
