    Would go/would have gone
    Message from mohammad51 posted on 03-08-2018 at 22:00:06 (D | E | F)
    Hello
Please help if something is wrong:
If I had time, I...... (go) to Paris. I would go (no doubt = second conditional)
I think it refers to the present time ( If I have time now ) so it can be possible
But I noticed some sites answered it another answer like:
If I had time, I...... (go) to Paris. I would have gone? As a mixed conditional
    Is the second answer correct?
They use the future perfect or as we learned the conditional type 3 >>>
If + past perfect >>>>>>> would + have + pp
    Please help.

    Hello
    Two classical answers :
If I had time, I would go to Paris.
If I had had time, I would have gone to Paris.

    Hello
    Many thanks
I know this , but many examples as mixed conditional, make me confused which one to follow.
I think that can be real or likely to happen we use if + past simple >>> would + infinitive and for which it is unlikely to happen we use the form if + past simple >>>> would + have + pp as the same of type 3 except if + past perfect
    Examples
If I wasn't afraid of spiders, I would have picked it up. if + past simple >>> would + have + pp
I would have picked it up if I wasn't afraid of spiders.
If we didn't trust him we would have sacked him months ago.
We would have sacked him months ago if we didn't trust him.
If I wasn't in the middle of another meeting, I would have been happy to help you.
I would have been happy to help you if I wasn't in the middle of another meeting.

    Hello;
If I weren't ( preferable) afraid of spiders,I would pick it up...( present meaning)
If I hadn't been afraid of spiders,...... (past meaning))
If we hadn't trusted him,.....(past meaning)
If I hadn't been in the middle..... , ....(past meaning)
    Have a good time.
