    Hello
Please guide me which is more grammatically correct?
    Thank you in advance.
I have searched looked for explanations in many books and sites and have got different results

Is it What can we say? : Two hours and a half OR Two and a half hours.

Please be kind and answer my question.

    Hello,
Two hours and a half ...no, we'd say One hour and a half because it can be the half of one hour but not the half of two hours, which would be 3 hours then.
    OR
Two and a half hours ...is correct.

    Hello
You can search a suspect for drugs but I can hardly imagine you searching a book. You have looked for an answer in many books.

Both expressions seem to be in use but two and a half hours seems much more common, the other one being probably not quite right but still used, an imitation of one hour and a half, as lucile explained.

    Hello
    Thank you both teachers

I agree with you dear teacher gerondif both are used and still are used

For " Two hours and a half

One native speaker said " He has never heard it in US; perhaps used in UK or other places?"

I noticed all Indian authors of grammar books, as well as the Russian choose " Two hours and a half.
Suggesting " Two and a half hours" = wrong
Lastly and how much I searched, I got a result:
Two hours and a half = archaic as much as I supposed
