    Hi,
Please help me with this sentence.
    Thanks for any reply.
"John's approval rating a record low."
's is a short form of is or has or a genitive, so where is the verb in this sentence?

    Hello
I think the verb is missing.
John's approval rating is (reaching) a record low.

Rating being used as a noun, the meaning seems to be :
The level of approval that John is getting these days is at its lowest.

    Hello
John's approval (that ) is rating the record low.
I think it has been the first sentence. We can omit that and be together. And ('s) is genitive form.
    Many thanks

    Hello
Since (rate) is not used in continuous tenses .
    Best regards

    Hello
    I agree with gerondif.
John's approval rating is a record low. The verb is "is".

    Hello,
    You can say:
    - John's approval rating hits, falls to, crashes to record low.
    - John's approval rating, a record low.

    hello
the verb is missing .we can add a verb like reach.
John's approval rating reached a record law. low
    s is a genitive form.
    yours truly..

    Hello ,
I also completely agree with gerondif 's teaching . . A verb is necessary ( to reach , go, come , swoop : you can change your way of saying ..) and ' Be + -ing ' = continuous present totally accurate as you are stating a result which can still evolve in one way or the other .
Attention , please ! John's ( genitive not to forget ) and low ( not law which is a big vocabulary mistake ) .
    Bye .
