(4) But some good news for Edward

Some good news for the Wessex family: Ardent Productions, the TV production company set up by the Earl of Wessex, has recorded its first profit. According to the DAILY TELEGRAPH, the 30,000 pounds pre-tax profits - its first in seven years of operation - came as the commercial television network ITV expressed interest in acquiring a drama series from the company, dealing with arranged marriages. The paper quotes the proud Earl speaking up for his company's much-criticised record: 'We have now made more than 80 programmes representing over 60 hours of television for 14 broadcasters around the world,' he says. 'Last year we made 15 hours of television and the company has sold programmes to more than 50 countries.' Other papers chose to focus on the millions lost by the company in previous years.
