Smoking or not smoking?? Two days ago was the Day without Tobacco. A whole day without smoking ! Did you manage to refrain from smoking? Did you take good resolutions that day? How did you behave? I am a former smoker who gave up smoking about 20 years ago. Unfortunately, my son is a smoker though he would like to stop. What would you advise him to do? How did you stop? All tricks and hints are welcome !

I think it's a real difficult for stop the smoking. The best speech before the first cigarette is to say it's more difficult to never smoke than smoke even once time. When these teenagers will be adults they would say they have never smoke, and it will be their pride.
Now if your son have already smoke, the matter is different. The most important is who want really he stop it ? If it's you, it will be impossible. Now if your son want really to stop the smoking, you could help him. You will find an activity or a singing for each time he want take a cigarette. Perhaps the most difficulty would be their friends if they all smoke.

HI THERE ! i'm a 16- year- old girl and some of my friends are heavy smokers ...I find it stupid because they don't get any pleasure by smoking now that they are addicts ! I just smoke when i feel like smoking , at parties for example , or when i feel stressed or depressed . I don't need to smoke all day long , not even all days or all weeks ! I can easily stay without smoking , it 's not a problem , i don't think about it ! I understand your problem about your son , it must be deceiving to see his own son smoking when you've had problems with it !Try to make him understand ecause it will be too late afte a while ! But it will be hard , teens are so immature , boys overall ! Good luck !Lils

everyone for your support ! I've a good piece of news : my son who was a very sportive boy has decided to go back to the gym ! It will help him to give up his cigarettes ! Charliebzh, you're right, the most difficult part is to resist smoking among friends who are heavy smokers ! Time will tell ! Lils, please be careful ! We, all former smokers, thought we could stop whenever we wanted to but as time went by... it proved very difficult to do it ! What did you do on the Day without Tobacco? Smoked?? didn't smoke?? Louisiane, I do share your point of view : chocolate is good for health ! But... Am I becoming addicted ?!

I don't have a solution for your son. The best he can do is to try and be motivated. I don't smoke and I never understood why people smoke. Cigarettes are expensive, it gives a bad breath, yellow teeth, and increase the cancer risk. In my opinion smokers don't have character. Everyone knows that cigarettes are full of chemical substances to make smokers quickly addicted. So smokers agree to be manipulated!
I wish your son can stop one day. When he succeeds he will be very proud of him!

smoking is very dangerous to the health of a human ,it causes a lot of illness for example cancer and more others
I council you to visit with your son a hospital where are a ill by smoking.
