    3. and brothels search of a few drinks

    4. and companionship, and from their hardship came the tango.

    5. The music and dance borrowed heavily the many nations of the immigrants.

    6. From Africa came the relentless rhythms the slave drums.

    7. From pampas of Argentina came the influence of milonga – music

    8. that combined Indian rhythms early Spanish music.

    9. The tango speaks a fatalistic existence,

    10. one in pain and sorrow are the expected destiny.

    11. It was Carlos Gardel that brought the tango the attention of the world.

    12. 1915 the tango was the craze of Europe,

    13. and soon the Americans were doing it.

    14. Some American women took wearing 'bumpers'

    15. which kept them from rubbing too closely their partners.
