Should or Would

Should is used for :

a) recommendation, advice, reproach, supposition, after “lest”, “in case”, “for fear”

b) to convey disappointment or irritation : : Why should I…? How should I ..?

c ) to substitute a subjunctive in sentences like 'The Mayor insists that all villages should be evacuated'; ' It is necessary that heshould ask for it ' ( in reality this form is disappearing, especially in American English, where we would find “ It is necessary that he ask for it “ , without the third person S!

Should I stay or should I go ?

Would is used for

a) a repetitive action in the past (while used to refers to a discontinued habit); kind request, obstinate refusal of someone /something to perform an action

b) introduced by a verb in the past tense/s or in indirect speech introduced by a verb in the past tense/s, to refer to future actions

c) in the 2 conditionals

d) after wish to convey a feeling of disappointment or anger. I wish you would stop complaining!
