    Get and usage


    Get is one of the most used words in English. It has different meanings based on the sentence situation. Get is an irregular verb.

    The simple present form is GET, the simple past form is GOT, the past participle is GOT (gotten in American English),and the present participle is getting.

    Some of its meanings are shown below.

    Obtain/receive.Become/start to be.Do something/has something done. Move to/from.Progress in an activity.

    Fit/put something in a place. Understand. Be able/allowed todo something. Kill/attack/punish.

    Answer door/phone. Use a particular vehicle. Receive a broadcast. Reach someone by phone.Prepare a meal. Annoy.
