    Brief reminder of Part 1 (without mistake ) :
    The first railway line was created in France in 1827. The development of the railways in the 19th century led to significant growth in the agricultural and metal industries.

    ----------------     In 1930, the light petrol railcar, called ' Micheline ' , whose wheel are equipped with special tyres, gradualy replaced the steam train. It ran at 90km/h compared to 20km/h for trains in 1812. Passenger comfort was improved.
    The invention of the diesel train in 1950 allow for greater power and the ability to transport goods and passengers. The oil crises of 1973 only strengtened the interest of the TGV over the plane. As a result of soaring energy prices, the option of electric traction was chose.
    On September 27, 1981, the TGV was officialy launched on the Paris-Lyon line. Its speed record is 380 km/h. This train is confortable and quiet despite its speed. It competes with the plane, whose airports are far away, whereas the TGV arrives in the centre of major cities.

    The creation of the railway marked the transition from an immobile world to a mobile, incresingly fast-paced world, develloping a new way of life.
