    Be going to


    We use 'be going to'

    1. To talk about an intention.

    Examples: When I grow up I am going to be a cook.

                    He doesn't like his job. He is going to look for a new one.

     

    2. To talk about something that is 'sure' to happen.There is present evidence of this.

    Examples:

    She has got her kimono on. She is going to do judo.

    Why are they standing there ?. They are going to take the bus.


     

    I am going to start.

    You are going to start.

    He/She/It is going to start.

    We are going to start.

    They are going to start.


     

    To make a sentence negative, put 'not' after the verb 'be'.              Example: I'm angry with Tom. I am not going to talk to him.

    To make a question, put 'be' before the  subject.                           Example: Tom is going to the café.Who is he going with?
